LITTLE OR NO STRETCH
A Twin-Path Extra Sling (TPXKS 11000 x 27 ft.-4 in.) was proof tested to 220,000 lbs. in a vertical hitch. The sling was held for a ten minute period. A total elongation of 2 inches was recorded. Information on the properties of Aramid fiber’s performance in nuclear environments is detailed in a report titled, “Radiation Effects on Organic Materials in Nuclear Power Plants” (Report No. EPRI NP 2128, dated November 1981).
