| There are three basic types of hoist rings: screw-mount lifting rings, side-pull hoist rings and center-pull hoist rings. Screw-mount lifting hoist rings are fixed base hoist rings. They have mounting holes for screws. Side-pull rings are designed to be rigged from the side and center-pull hoist rings are designed to be rigged from the center.
Hoist rings differ in terms of finish and material of construction. Metallic hoist rings can be made of stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, brass, bronze, hardened steel, steel, or alloys. Many different grades of carbon steel and alloy steel are used as fastener materials for hoist rings.
